MOLINA Ph.D. Associated Professor, Facultad de Ciencias
de la Salud, Universidad Andrés Bello.
Dr. Molina graduated as a Biochemist form
the Universidad Austral de Chile (Valdivia), with a thesis
on the differential expression of prolactin during the acclimation
of the fish C. Carpio. After a short stay as Assistant
Professor at this University he traveled in 1995 to Liege
in Belgium where he started his doctoral studies in the laboratory
of Dr. Joseph Martial on the isolation and characterization
of fish genes potentially relevant for the preparation of
transgenic fish (GnRH, L18 y HSP70). His doctoral work give
rise to numerous publications of biotechnological relevance.
RESEARCH:
Dr. Molina present research deals
with the preparation and selection of transgenic fish variants
for commertial use.
